Since qualifying in 1998, the majority of Ben Aston’s work has been on listed buildings up to Grade I, ranging from pure conservation to alteration and creative reuse. He has a Masters in the History of Modern Architecture and is a Specialist Conservation Architect (SCA) on the RIBA Register of Conservation Architects.
Ben has wide experience of Arts and Cultural projects, including museums, libraries, performance and events spaces. He has a particular expertise in the design of specialist archive stores to BS5454.
Ben has sought the balance between the demands of new uses and the preservation of historic fabric to ensure that statutory approvals can be successfully achieved. He takes a client-focussed approach, understanding needs and briefs, to ensure the project is a success. He leads design teams and works with contractors, utilising extensive technical and construction experience, to ensure schemes are built to quality, time and budget.
