Burrell Foley Fischer were invited to participate in a selection process for a Masterplanner and Architect, in a field of four. The Judge Business School was seeking to double its footprint on a sensitive central Cambridge site. Burrell Foley Fischer’s outline scheme transforms the setting of the building, enhances the presence of the school in Cambridge, and creates high quality external spaces around the Judge building while improving the aspect, sunlight and daylight of neighbouring buildings. The outline design would enable Phase 1 and Phase 2 to be built without interruption to the school's operation, while meeting the University’s and Local Planning Authority’s sustainability requirements and responding to the school's aspirations to communicate its identity through its architecture and compete globally with its peers.
